Radiology Residents Invited to Join in National Cancer Awareness Effort
National outreach event empowers residents to champion cancer screenings and health equity

Radiology resident programs are leading efforts to increase cancer screening awareness in their own communities through the Communities Crushing Cancer (CCC) event scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Originally a statewide initiative in Massachusetts involving eight residency programs, CCC has grown into a national patient outreach effort developed by the Radiology Health Equity Coalition (RHEC). The event focuses on raising awareness and promoting screenings for breast, lung and colorectal cancers.
Residents engage their local communities by setting up information tables at their home institutions, distributing educational materials and connecting individuals to vital resources for screenings.
Each residency program appoints a primary liaison to coordinate local efforts and ensure the success of their outreach. The RHEC will host a special teleconference Thursday, Sept. 25, for participating CCC liaisons.
The RHEC provides a participant toolkit offering the necessary resources including downloadable brochures that each program can print and distribute.
