Nariman Nezami, MD, is the 2025 RSNA William R. Eyler Editorial Fellow, and Ali Tejani, MD, has been named the 2025 RSNA William W. Olmsted Trainee Editorial Fellow. Kevin Fung, MBBS, was selected as the recipient of the RSNA International Editorial Fellowship.

Dr. Nezami is an interventional radiologist and associate professor of radiology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, D.C. He completed his radiology residency at Yale University in New Haven, CT, and an interventional radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore.

The author of over 180 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Nezami contributed to 12 book chapters and delivered more than 200 national and international conference presentations. His research interests focus on interventional oncology, image-guided therapies, studying the effect of transarterial therapies on tumor imaging microenvironment and translational imaging biomarkers.

“This fellowship will provide Dr. Nezami a valuable and well-deserved opportunity to deepen his expertise and cultivate new professional relationships alongside leaders in medical publishing,” said Linda Moy, MD, Radiology editor. “His participation in the editorial process will strengthen and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of our field.”

In addition to his academic work, Dr. Nezami is actively involved in professional societies. He is also an associate editor and editorial contributor to several radiology and interventional radiology journals.

“Being selected for the Eyler Editorial Fellowship is not only a tremendous honor and a meaningful milestone in my academic journey, but also a responsibility. This award reflects my commitment to advancing the quality and clarity of scientific communication in radiology,” Dr. Nezami said. “The opportunity to engage directly with the editorial process at the highest level will deepen my understanding of what defines impactful research and equip me with the tools to mentor others and contribute meaningfully to the future of radiologic scholarship. I’m especially excited to learn from the editorial teams at Radiology and RadioGraphics, and to carry these insights forward into the fields of interventional radiology and oncology—and beyond.”

Dr. Tejani is a neuroradiology fellow at the University of California, San Francisco. After completing medical school at the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Dr. Tejani completed his radiology residency at the UT Southwestern Medical Center where he served as senior chief resident of the diagnostic radiology program. He also completed an imaging informatics fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania/Penn Radiology in Philadelphia.

Dr. Tejani is an alum of the Radiology: Artificial Intelligence Trainee Editorial Board and deputy editor for the journal’s podcast. He has been recognized with the Radiology: Artificial Intelligence Editor’s Recognition Award with special distinction (2024 and 2025) and European Radiology Reviewer of the Year Award (2024).

“Dr. Tejani’s strong commitment to radiology education and scholarly communication is evident through his work with the Radiology: Artificial Intelligence Trainee Editorial Board,” said Christine Cooky Menias, MD, RadioGraphics editor. “As the 2025 Olmsted Editorial Fellow, he will gain a deeper understanding of the editorial process and broaden his perspective on academic publishing and radiologic research.”

An advocate for imaging informatics and AI training, Dr. Tejani serves as a course co-director for the National Imaging Informatics Course hosted jointly by RSNA and the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine.

"RSNA’s suite of journals serves as the preeminent hub for foundational education and forum for discussion on the latest technical developments in our field. Those involved in scientific journalism serve as stewards for publication of robust, reproducible and transparent research,” Dr. Tejani said. “As an aspiring artificial intelligence and imaging informatics educator, it is a privilege to have the opportunity to learn about the editorial process, understand the evolving needs for our readership and develop targeted educational resources to navigate recent innovation in radiology."

Dr. Fung is an associate consultant in the Department of Radiology at Hong Kong Children's Hospital and honorary clinical assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong. Awarded the John Anderson Gold Medal for best performance, Dr. Fung received his medical degree from the University of Hong Kong. After completing his radiology residency training in Hong Kong, he pursued a fellowship in pediatric interventional radiology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

“Dr. Fung offers a valuable international perspective shaped by his clinical and academic experiences,” Dr. Moy said. “Through this fellowship, he will engage closely with each stage of the editorial process, while gaining insight into the collaborative work that underpins high-quality radiologic publishing.”

Dr. Fung’s clinical and research interests are focused on pediatric body imaging and intervention. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 manuscripts. Equally passionate about radiologic journalism, he was selected as a review fellow in European Radiology and served on the RadioGraphics Trainee Editorial Board. In addition to being an active peer reviewer for multiple international journals, he is the associate editor of the Hong Kong Journal of Radiology and editorial board member of CVIR Oncology, European Radiology and Pediatric Radiology.

“Being selected as the RSNA International Editorial Fellow is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to gain firsthand insight into the editorial processes behind some of the most impactful journals in radiology,” Dr. Fung said. “This fellowship will deepen my understanding of the core tenets of radiologic journalism and support my growth as a reviewer and editor—helping ensure that high-quality scientific work and educational material receive the recognition they deserve and ultimately translate into better patient care.”
