Nominations Now Open for MACRA Wave 5 Clinician Expert Workgroups

Submission window closes July 1

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and its contractor Acumen, LLC, are seeking nominations for Wave 5 of the Clinician Expert Workgroups that will provide input on the development of three episode-based cost measures for potential use in the Quality Payment Program.

The nomination period is open, and stakeholders are invited to submit nominations until July 1 at 10:59 p.m. CT.

Acumen will convene the following Clinician Expert Workgroups, based on episode groups selected by CMS and informed by stakeholder input received through the public comment period, in July 2022:

  • Kidney Transplant Management
  • Prostate Cancer
  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

According to CMS, clinicians interested in joining a workgroup for the first time may submit their nomination. Wave 4 workgroup members can express their interest in an abbreviated form shared via email.

In addition, CMS noted that individuals who participated in Acumen stakeholder groups other than Wave 4 should complete the full web-based nomination form to ensure that Acumen has the most current information.
