RSNA To Host Webinar on Data in Radiology

Topics include improving efficiencies and managing patient data

RSNA will host a free 60-minute webinar on managing the data designed to reveal important information about a patients' health. Entitled, “Data in Radiology: Navigating Challenges and Improving Efficiencies,” the webinar will be held on Thursday, Sept. 24 at noon (CT). The webinar is sponsored by IBM Watson Health.

The webinar will discuss the challenges created in accessing health care data, gleaning the most useful insights and adapting to the expected future influx of data. Radiologists must not only learn how to access this data, but how they will be able to use it. Current IT systems exist to help manage data and images within departments and across the enterprise – and now from clinicians' homes – but accessing the data remains a key concern for most radiologists. Once they access it, the challenge turns to harnessing that data quickly and comprehensively so that the insights available can be converted into actionable information for clinicians.

Data webinar feature

The webinar will be moderated by Yan Chen, PhD, associate professor of cancer screening in the Division of Cancer and Stem Cell, School of Medicine at University of Nottingham, England.

Also participating in the webinar are David Mendelson, MD, professor of diagnostic, molecular and interventional radiology, Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York; David Gruen, MD, MBA, chief medical officer, Imaging, IBM Watson Health; and Pina Sanelli, MD, MPH, vice chairman of research, Department of Radiology, Northwell Health, professor of radiology, Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, and professor, Center for Health Innovations and Outcomes Research at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research, all located in NY.
