Take Action: CMS Proposed Rule Includes Radiology Payment Reductions
Comment by Sept. 13 to advocate for your patients and the specialty
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) included in the 2022 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule provisions that will again generate significant pay reductions for radiologists and other specialty physicians beginning in January.
Last year, the radiology community successfully advocated for an adjustment to the 2021 conversion factor, which reduced the impact on reimbursement for radiology services. That adjustment is set to expire Dec. 31, 2021.
The comment period for the proposed rule revisions closes Monday, Sept. 13. RSNA encourages members to contact CMS and your congressional representatives to advocate again on behalf of patients and radiology practices to help ensure critical access to care.
