Nominees Announced for 2027 Board of Directors
Eligible members will vote on the candidates during RSNA 2026
Michael S. Gee, MD, MBA, PhD, is a candidate for a standing director position on the RSNA Board of Directors.
Dr. Gee is the Nathaniel and Diana Alpert Endowed Deputy Chair of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School in Boston. He also serves as director of integrated radiology research for Mass General Brigham.
As deputy chair, Dr. Gee helps oversee clinical, research and education programs within one of the nation’s leading academic radiology departments. He previously served as chief of pediatric radiology, associate residency program director and vice-chair for clinical operations at MGH.
Dr. Gee has authored more than 200 scientific publications and has led research supported by the National Institutes of Health, the RSNA R&E Foundation and other organizations. His work focuses on imaging biomarkers, AI, MRI innovation and workflow optimization.
An active RSNA volunteer, Dr. Gee serves as chair-elect of the R&E Foundation Board of Trustees and as clinical advisor for RSNA Ventures. He previously chaired the RSNA Task Force on Advanced Practice Providers in Radiology and serves on the RSNA Science Council. A two-time RSNA Honored Educator, Dr. Gee has also held numerous leadership positions at MGH and in national radiology organizations and has board experience in both the nonprofit and commercial sectors.
Kate Hanneman, MD, MPH, FRCPC, is a candidate for the at-large director position on the RSNA Board of Directors.
Dr. Hanneman is vice chair of research and an associate professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto, and a cardiothoracic radiologist at the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, University Health Network in Toronto.
An internationally recognized cardiac imager and researcher, Dr. Hanneman leads a multidisciplinary research program focused on cardiovascular CT and MRI, environmental sustainability in radiology and AI applications in medical imaging. She has authored more than 240 peer-reviewed publications and has received multiple grants from the RSNA R&E Foundation, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and other funding agencies.
Dr. Hanneman is chair of the RSNA Environmental Sustainability Committee and recently served as chair of the RSNA Annual Meeting Program Planning Committee. She is an associate editor for Radiology and Radiology: Cardiothoracic Imaging, a past member of the RSNA Science Council and a past chair of the RSNA Professionalism Committee.
Recipient of an RSNA Lifetime Honored Educator Award, Dr. Hanneman serves in leadership roles with the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, the North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging and the Canadian Association of Radiologists.
