RSNA 2026 Outstanding Educator

An internationally respected educator and mentor, Zehava Sadka Rosenberg, MD, is a retired professor emeritus of radiology and orthopedic surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. During her career Dr. Rosenberg taught and mentored countless U.S. and international medical students, residents, fellows and attendings in radiology, orthopedics, pediatrics and rheumatology as well as directing numerous radiology courses and lecturing throughout the world.

“Dr. Rosenberg’s extraordinary career reflects the very highest ideals of radiology education,” said RSNA President Jeffrey S. Klein, MD. “Through her dedication to teaching and mentorship, influential scholarship in musculoskeletal imaging, leadership across the radiology community and generous service around the world, she has made an enduring impact on generations of learners and colleagues.”  

She also held many leadership positions such as acting director of the Radiology Department and vice chairperson of the Radiology Department at, the then called Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Rosenberg has also been a chair and member of various national and international committees including Grants Committee of the International Skeletal Society, American College of Radiology Informatics committee and American College of Radiology Appropriateness committee and RSNA RadioGraphics panel. Dr. Rosenberg has also been a reviewer for many medical journals including Radiology, AJR American Journal of Roentgenology, RadioGraphics, Skeletal Radiology and Journal of Computed Tomography.  

Dr. Rosenberg’s clinical research focused on MRI of the musculoskeletal system, particularly of the ankle and foot, elbow, nerve disorders, pediatric normal development, variants and injuries and bisphosphonate related atypical femoral fractures. Dr. Rosenberg has also edited and coauthored six radiology books and periodicals, more than 180 scientific papers and more than 160, mostly award winning, scientific exhibits and presentations.
