RSNA 2026 Gold Medalist

A powerful advocate for improving resident education, faculty development and workforce issues in radiology, Jocelyn D. Chertoff, MD, is an emeritus professor of radiology for Dartmouth Health. She is the former chair, Department of Diagnostic Radiology and the vice president, Radiology Service Line at Dartmouth Hitchcock in Lebanon, NH. 

“Dr. Chertoff’s exceptional leadership in resident education, faculty development and workforce issues has strengthened radiology,” said RSNA President, Jeffrey S. Klein, MD. “Through distinguished service to RSNA and numerous radiologic organizations, she has advanced the profession, supported women in medicine and inspired colleagues nationwide.”

Dr. Chertoff has been actively involved in the RSNA including as a former chair of the Education Council, a faculty advisor to the Resident and Fellows Committee and participating on several review panels for the R&E Foundation. Widely recognized as a dedicated educator, Dr. Chertoff was named RSNA Outstanding Educator in 2019.

Dr. Chertoff is a past chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges’ Group on Women in Medicine and Science. She is also a past president of the Association of Program Directors in Radiology (APDR), Alliance of Clinician Educators in Radiology (ACER), the Association of University Radiologists (AUR) and the New Hampshire Radiological Society. She is a fellow of the American College of Radiology and the Association of Academic Radiology.

She has been recognized with the ACER Achievement Award and been named a fellow of the AUR. For her work as an oral board examiner for the ABR for nine years, she was awarded its Distinguished Service Award. She also is the recipient of the AUR gold medal and the APDR Achievement Award.
