RSNA 2026 Dedication

Jian-Ping Dai, MD, was a pioneering radiologist, visionary leader and internationally respected advocate for medical imaging whose contributions helped transform neuroradiology and interventional radiology in China and around the world.

For more than four decades, Prof. Dai dedicated his career to advancing the science and practice of radiology, making groundbreaking contributions to neuroradiologic diagnosis and neurointerventional treatment while helping shape the development of modern neuroradiology in China.

His influence extended well beyond the clinical and academic arenas through his leadership as vice president of the Chinese Medical Association, chairman of the Chinese Society of Radiology and editor-in-chief of numerous influential medical publications. He also founded the Chinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, creating an important platform for scientific exchange and innovation.

Prof. Dai’s impact was recognized globally through many of radiology’s most prestigious honors, including the Antoine Béclère Medal of the International Society of Radiology, the Gold Medal of the Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology and Honorary Membership in the Radiological Society of North America.

He was admired by colleagues worldwide for his scientific rigor, mentorship and commitment to advancing education and international collaboration. Through his leadership, scholarship and generosity, Prof. Dai inspired generations of radiologists and strengthened connections across the global imaging community. His enduring legacy continues to influence radiology and patient care throughout the world.
