To assist new RSNA staff members in understanding the responsibilities of a radiologist so that they can, in turn, better support RSNA members, is the impetus behind an RSNA partnership with DuPage Medical Group.

For the past several years, new RSNA staff have had the opportunity to tour the outpatient radiology centers of DuPage Medical Group, which has locations in communities around RSNA Headquarters. Staff receive detailed tours of the imaging equipment and speak with radiologists and technicians about their expertise. So far, 130 staff have attended the tours.

“We appreciate DuPage Medical Group and their staff for giving their time to speak with RSNA staff about what radiologist’s do and what they need to provide high-quality patient care,” said Sally Nikkel, assistant executive director, RSNA finance and administration. “These tours have helped staff better understand how RSNA supports members and the important ways that members engage with RSNA.”

RSNA member, Rajit S. Shetty, MD, of DuPage Medical Group, also speaks with the staff and answers questions. “From a radiologist’s perspective, it is beneficial to interact with RSNA staff and offer them a glimpse of what a radiologist’s day looks like,” said Dr. Shetty. “This helps RSNA staff understand what’s important to members so they can develop programming and activities that support our educational and clinical needs.”

Tours are scheduled throughout 2018 for new and established employees.
