RSNA Kicks off New Year with Medicare, Medicaid Webinar
“Medicare and Medicaid: Origins, Current State and Future Implications,” a free, one-hour webinar will be held Jan. 20 from 12 to 1 p.m. CT. Expert faculty will explore the origins of Medicare and Medicaid, their current state, as well as future implications when it comes to academic institutions and private practices. Registration is required.

RSNA Musculoskeletal Spotlight Course Coming up in Peru
MSK Through the Ages: From Pediatrics to Geriatrics” will be held Jan. 23-24, in Lima, Peru.
The two-day in-person Spotlight Course will be conducted entirely in Spanish and aims to bolster attendees’ expertise in musculoskeletal imaging across all stages of life. The course will offer dynamic lectures, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, case reviews and interactive sessions to enhance practical skills.

RSNA Announces Virtual Career Fair 
Radiology professionals planning their next career move are invited to join the RSNA Virtual Career Fair on Jan. 29 from 4 to 7 p.m. CT. This online event is free for job seekers and offers a convenient, efficient way for job seekers to meet directly with top radiology employers. Participants can browse open positions, upload their resumes and take part in one-on-one video interviews, all from home.

Employers interested in participating can choose from several virtual booth packages to showcase their organization, highlight current job openings and meet with qualified candidates. Each employer receives a customizable virtual booth complete with branding, images, videos and job listings. The deadline for employer registration is Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. CT.

Nominations Open for 2026 RSNA Rising Star Award
The RSNA Rising Star Award was established to recognize the outstanding contributions and innovative work of early-career radiologists who are shaping the future of radiology education. RSNA members who are no more than five years post-residency are eligible. Submitted applications must include personal statements and demonstrate experience and achievements in community engagement, leadership, education administration, speaking engagements, volunteering within RSNA committees, private practice administration, leadership roles within hospitals, leadership skills and leadership development, and involvement in community education engagement and curriculum development.

Award recipients will receive the opportunity to participate in the Douglas W. MacEwan Rising Star Track, established to strengthen support and development of early-career radiologists. The deadline for nominations is Jan. 30.

RSNA Across Africa Events Coming in 2026
In 2026, RSNA will host two events focused on cultivating global partnerships and improving health equity, access, safety and patient care in Africa. These events will bring together leading radiologists, physicists, diplomats, educators, hospital administrators and industry personnel. The first event will take place Sept. 4–5 in Cape Town, South Africa, with a follow-up event held during RSNA 2026 in Chicago. A limited number of travel awards will be available for eligible participants residing in Africa. Interested participants are encouraged to apply by Jan. 31, 2026. Learn more

RSNA Seeks Nominations for Board of Directors
RSNA’s Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for qualified candidates to serve in open Board of Director positions with terms beginning in December 2026. The RSNA Board of Directors is a highly skilled group of individuals committed to improving the future of radiology. To help ensure inclusion of diverse perspectives and needed expertise, the Board will seek candidates who exemplify a commitment to fostering innovation in the field, inclusive collaboration in leadership and advancing the Society’s mission. Nominees must meet Board criteria and should demonstrate thought leadership, adaptability and strategic vision.

Nominations are open from Feb. 3 to March 20, 5 p.m. CT. The Nominating Committee will review the nominations and recommend a slate of candidates to the Board. Eligible members will vote on the final slate of candidates during the annual business meeting later this year. <

RSNA EdCentral Offers Pediatric Live Case Review in February, New Health Equity Channel
Live Case Reviews are available to RSNA members exclusively on RSNA EdCentral. These focused, 15-minute sessions are held monthly and feature an expert deep dive into intriguing cases across a range of subspecialties.

On Feb. 3, at 4 p.m. CT, Camilo Jaimes Cobos, M.D., M.P.H., will discuss three challenging and interesting pediatric cases. EdCentral has also launched a new Radiology Health Equity Channel. This comprehensive hub contains courses, webinars, videos, journal articles, and stories addressing a variety of health equity topics.

Registration Opens for Grant Proposal Workshop
Registration is open for the “Writing a Competitive Grant Proposal” workshop designed for researchers in radiology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine and related sciences who are interested in actively pursuing federal funding. This 1 ½-day program is guided by a faculty of leading researchers with extensive experience in all aspects of grant applications and funding. The program will focus on developing specific aims to be included in a grant application. The workshop will be held March 26-27 at RSNA headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. Learn more

RSNA Releases New Quality Improvement Program Module 
The Quality Improvement (QI) Certificate Program is designed to give radiology professionals the radiology-specific quality and safety skills to lead complex QI initiatives or to inform their practices. The QI Certificate Program is free for Standard and Full Access RSNA members. The third module, Patient Safety in Radiology, is now available. 

Abstract Reviewers Needed for RSNA 2026
RSNA is seeking experts in all radiology subspecialties to review scientific and education abstracts for RSNA 2026. Selected applicants will assist RSNA in reviewing and scoring abstracts submitted through the RSNA Official Call for Abstracts. Learn more about this and other volunteer opportunities.

Save the Date for 3D Printing Course
The RSNA Medical 3D Printing and Immersive Reality in Practice course will take place April 25-26 at RSNA headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois. Physicians and professionals working in the advanced imaging and medical 3D printing industry are invited to attend. The course will feature didactic lectures and expert demonstrations focusing on 3D printing technology, current research and policy regulation. Registration opens later this month.

RSNA Launches ATLAS Imaging AI Research Hub
RSNA’s newly launched Annotated Library of AI Systems (ATLAS) is a central hub where the imaging AI research community can share and explore information about AI models and datasets. Developers are encouraged to publish cards detailing key model and dataset attributes. Users can search, compare and learn from a growing collection of AI resources. 

National Imaging Informatics Course Returns in March
Registration is open for the upcoming term of the National Imaging Informatics Course (NIIC), sponsored by the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine, RSNA and the Digital Pathology Association. NIIC is an accelerated, week-long online experience for imaging informaticists seeking to better leverage their expertise towards a broader, more holistic engagement within the field and the first course of its kind to delve into comprehensive fundamental principles in today’s real-world ecosystem of imaging informatics -- in order to create enduring engagement and innovation within the field. The virtual course takes place March 23-27, 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. ET.

“Radiology Advances” Indexed in ESCI, PMC
RSNA’s open access journal, Radiology Advances, is now indexed in the Web of Science Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) and PubMed Central (PMC). The journal, edited by Susanna I. Lee, M.D., Ph.D., will receive its first Impact Factor in 2026, and authors will benefit from enhanced discoverability and citation potential.
