Alexander R. Margulis Award for Scientific Excellence

This annual award recognizes the best original scientific article published in Radiology and is named for Alexander R. Margulis, MD, a distinguished investigator and inspiring visionary in the science of radiology.

“Correlation of Chest CT and RT-PCR Testing for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in China,” earned the 2020 Margulis Award because of the originality and importance of this work in the diagnosis of COVID-19. Lead authors Dr. Tao Ai and Dr. Zhenlu Yang, and senior author Dr. Liming Xia are from the radiology department at Tongji Medical College, in Wuhan China.
