Radiology generates an ever-growing volume of information, and the benefits of this information for education and research increase greatly when it can be shared. The RSNA MIRC project provides tools for just that purpose. MIRC offers:
- A simple way to identify, index and retrieve images, teaching files and other radiology information
- The ability to search multiple imaging libraries as if they were a single library organized by medically important categories
- An authoring tool that makes it easy to create radiology teaching files and other electronic documents in flexible formats with a common underlying structure
- Tools to enable sites to manage and exchange images and research data sets for imaging clinical trials

The RSNA MIRC Site RSNA hosts an index site using the MIRC storage and query software at http://mirc.rsna.org. The RSNA MIRC site allows users to access materials published on participating sites from around the world.
Please note that RSNA takes no responsibility for the quality of these materials or for any outcomes resulting from their use, including the accuracy of any medical advice provided or the disclosure of any personal medical information.
MIRC Software The latest release of the RSNA's MIRC software and documentation can be obtained from the RSNA MIRC Site. The MIRC software can be used to set up a teaching file system for public or private use. It can also be used by sites participating in clinical trials to manage and exchange images and other information. All the MIRC software is freely available for use by the medical imaging community.
RSNA MIRC Forum RSNA has set up an online forum at http://forums.rsna.org where MIRC users can discuss MIRC and find answers to questions they encounter in implementing or using it. Subscribing to the MIRC threads will also enable you to receive email updates of MIRC software releases.
To receive quarterly email updates on the progress of the MIRC project and information about MIRC-related events, please complete the simple registration form here.
Participating in the RSNA MIRC Community Institutions with repositories of appropriate radiological education materials may request to link them to the RSNA MIRC site using the simple request form linked here.
