Important Message About RSNA 2020

As the world’s largest radiology meeting with over 50,000 attendees from 137 countries, our ability to conduct RSNA 2020 in Chicago is impacted by global public health considerations.  With a mission that focuses on health and patient care, the primary consideration for RSNA is the health and safety of attendees, presenters, exhibitors, staff, and by extension, the global community. Therefore, we concluded it would be impossible to safely conduct RSNA 2020 in person and have decided to hold RSNA 2020: Human Insight/Visionary Medicine as an exclusively virtual event. While we are disappointed we could not safely meet in Chicago this year, we continue to stand proudly in partnership with the physicians, health care professionals, researchers, and companies doing their part to stop the pandemic and preserve public health, and we look forward to a successful, virtual program. 

As a virtual event, RSNA 2020 promises to deliver an outstanding program for radiology professionals from around the world. We are enhancing our already successful virtual meeting to offer a rewarding experience for attendees, presenters, and exhibitors. With more than 11,000 scientific and educational abstract submissions, clearly the radiology community is looking to RSNA as its anchor for learning and sharing science and education this year, despite the pandemic. 

Over the coming months, we look forward to working with exhibiting companies to design a valuable and robust virtual experience.

What are the dates for the RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting Technical Exhibition?
The RSNA Virtual Meeting will be held November 29 – December 5. We are currently evaluating the schedule for the technical exhibition and will share more information as it becomes available. We welcome your feedback.
What vendor participation opportunities will be available for the RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting?

Currently, we are exploring various virtual meeting platforms and opportunities for our exhibitors such as virtual exhibit booths, educational, sponsorship and networking opportunities. A full menu of opportunities will be available for consideration this summer.   

In the meantime, as we develop these new features, we welcome your feedback on preferences as to elements of RSNA 2020 that you would most like to see available via the RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting.
As a current RSNA exhibitor, will my company be automatically part of the RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting?
Not automatically. Multiple participation opportunities are being developed and details on how to secure your company’s participation will be available in August. The RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting will be open to both current and prospective exhibitors.   

New and engaging participation opportunities are being developed specifically for the Virtual Meeting experience, including virtual exhibit booths, education, sponsorship and networking opportunities.  RSNA staff will be reaching out soon to seek your input into what will make the experience most valuable to your organization as we develop this platform. Later this summer, we will work with your company to select the best exhibit and sponsorship opportunities that meet your specific goals.   
Will my company still be able to launch new products at RSNA 2020?
Yes! We understand the important role that the RSNA annual meeting plays in showcasing innovation and connecting companies and decision makers. We are exploring virtual event technology that will provide companies the opportunity to highlight new products and increase their exposure to purchasers beyond the physical limits of McCormick Place. 
What will happen to my RSNA 2020 exhibit space deposit?
Exhibitors may choose to either (a) roll-over all your RSNA 2020 payments to secure exhibit space at RSNA 2021 at 2020 rates and earn five (5) additional priority points toward the RSNA 2021 exhibit space selection process or (b) request a full refund on all exhibit space payments. Please note: if you choose the refund option, participation in RSNA 2021 will be at published 2021 exhibit space rates.   

The RSNA Exhibition Services Department will be contacting each confirmed exhibitor by mid-June to discuss their options.  Please contact with any questions regarding the status of your 2020 exhibit space payment(s). 
Will I receive a refund for my contracted annual meeting sponsorship activities?
If you have purchased a sponsorship opportunity for RSNA 2020, there will be opportunities to reallocate your investment, in part or in full, to other sponsorship opportunities including those within the RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting. Such opportunities will be made available over the coming week(s). 

Alternatively, refunds will be granted upon request for promotions or sponsorships for RSNA 2020 on-site opportunities that have not been delivered. We kindly ask, however, that you first consider newly available opportunities in the Virtual Meeting or existing RSNA communication vehicles. The RSNA Corporate Relations Department will be contacting each sponsor to discuss newly available opportunities and options, including refunds if necessary.  Please contact Lisa Lazzaretto at for additional information. 
What will happen to my hotel room reservations?
RSNA will automatically cancel all reservations made through RSNA/onPeak and refund 100% of your deposit. You do not need to contact RSNA, onPeak, or the hotel to initiate your cancellation and refund. An email confirmation will be sent upon completion of the RSNA 2020 hotel room cancellation.   

If you reserved your hotel rooms through any other company, website, or travel app, you will need to contact that company directly to cancel your arrangements. You will be subject to the terms and conditions of those reservations. 
Why will RSNA be conducting a virtual meeting in place of the physical meeting in Chicago?
In light of the global circumstances impacting the meeting, RSNA has concluded that it would be impossible to safely conduct RSNA 2020 in person and has decided to hold RSNA 2020: Human Insight/Visionary Medicine as an exclusively virtual event. The RSNA 2020 Virtual Meeting will be held completely online November 29 - December 5.  Our Virtual Meeting will ensure an opportunity for participation by everyone impacted by institutional, corporate, or national travel restrictions. Fortunately, RSNA 2020 is several months away, allowing us the opportunity to design an engaging and valuable virtual experience for exhibitors. Over the coming months, we look forward to working with exhibiting companies to design a unique and meaningful virtual experience for all. 
When can we select our exhibit booth space for RSNA 2021?
RSNA 2021 is scheduled to be held November 28 – December 2, 2021, at McCormick Place in Chicago.  Complete details regarding the RSNA 2021 space selection process will be shared later this year.
