    These education modules were developed by the American Board of Radiology Foundation (ABRF) with educational grants from the Academy of Radiology Research (ARR), the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM), the American Board of Radiology (ABR), the American College of Radiology, the American Radium Society (ARS), the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

    The Online Modules on Ethics and Professionalism are designed to educate physicians and physicists about the attributes and nuances of ethics and professionalism that are essential to the practice of diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics. Each module is self-guided and includes self-testing features to help the reader assess his or her comprehension and application of the principles and practices described in the module.

    Each module has been developed by an expert team of individuals and has been peer reviewed for content, quality and clarity. These modules provide a basic understanding of ethics and professionalism issues, including the following topics: 

    • Attributes of Professions and Professionalism 
    • Physician-Physician and Physician-Patient Interactions
    • Personal Behavior, Peer Review, and Contract Negotiations with Employers
    • Conflict of Interest 
    • Ethics of Research 
    • Human Subjects Research
    • Vertebrate Animal Research 
    • Relationships with Vendors
    • Publication Ethics 
    • Ethics in Graduate and Resident Education

    This enduring material has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the RSNA and the ABRF. This enduring material has been approved for 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for each module. Each module can be applied toward the ABR MOC Self-Assessment requirement. Additionally, CAMPEP has approved each module for 1.50 credits.
