Important Characteristics to Cover in the Review

1. Description of the purpose/intention of the product. Concluding statements should relate back to this "purpose" statement; that is, how well does the product fulfill its goal?

2. Intended audience of the material.

3. Information about the medical "faculty" for the product. This information provides the reader with criteria for judging the quality of the material (eg, material developed in cooperation with Harvard Medical School vs Po-dunk College).

4. Number of images provided. By convention, book reviews include the number of figures and tables to inform readers about the quantity of illustrations–an important criterion for radiologists.

5. Major organization and subdivisions of the material covered.

6. Installation issues. Is the product easy to install (ie, its hardware requirements are minimal and its installation is straightforward, without requiring excess RAM)?

7. Navigation issues. Is the product easy to use (navigation, menus, etc)?

8. CME potential. Does the product have value for earning CME credit?
