State of the Art / Review / Special Review,
What the Clinician Wants to Know

These review articles are written by experts in the field. Reviews are commonly solicited by the editor; however, unsolicited reviews are also considered. Prior to submission, queries regarding review article submissions should be emailed to the editor (hkressel@rsna.org) to discuss suitability. Review articles should be focused, comprehensive, in-depth reviews of the available scientific information on a topic of interest. No new research information is described in these reviews. They should be balanced and authoritative and serve for years as the definitive reference on the topic discussed. These should include a list of three to five “Essentials” (see Review for Residents). Maximums: one paragraph abstract, 200 words; word count from Introduction to conclusion, 6500 words; number of references, 100; number of figure parts, 24; number of tables, four.
