The radiologic guidelines set forth in this section have been developed entirely by various groups. The Radiological Society of North America, Inc. (the "RSNA") has not participated in any way in that development. The purposes of the RSNA in disseminating these guidelines are (1) to promote awareness of the concept of formal practice guidelines and (2) to facilitate critical consideration of the medical issues presented by the guidelines. The RSNA has not evaluated the medical suitability of these guidelines, and this publication of them is not to be interpreted as approval or endorsement of the substance of the guidelines by the RSNA. Each health care professional making use of the guidelines is responsible for evaluating the appropriateness of applying the guidelines in any particular clinical situation.
