Figure 7: Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma in a 6-year-old boy with swelling and tenderness of the left hemiscrotum. Panel A Sonogram of the left hemiscrotum demonstrates a large, complex, predominantly solid, soft-tissue mass containing several cystic areas (arrow), distinct from the normal left testis (arrowhead) and associated with a large hydrocele. Panel B Color Doppler image shows flow within the mass. Panel C Blood pool images from a technetium-99m pertechnetate testicular study show hyperemia in the enlarged left scrotal sac (arrow). Scintigraphic findings mimic those of epididymitis.
