High-power photomicrograph (original magnification, X80; hematoxylin-eosin stain) of an islet cell tumor shows the cellular organization with bands of uniform cells arranged in a trabecular pattern. Numerous blood vessels are present in the intervening stroma and are responsible for the hypervascular nature of these tumors.
