Panel A Posteroanterior chest radiograph obtained when the patient was 5 years old demonstrates air-space consolidation in the medial and posterior basal segments of the left lower lobe. Panel B Posteroanterior chest radiograph obtained 1 yearlater shows a smaller persistent consolidation in the same location. Panel C Posteroanterior chest radiograph of the 7-year-old child, obtained 2 years after initial presentation, shows a large masslike consolidation in the left lower lobe.
