Colonic stricture in a 2.5-year-old boy with CF who was treated with high-dose pancreatic enzyme replacement. Panel A Barium enema radiograph demonstrates narrowing of the transverse colon with mucosal irregularity and loss of normal haustral markings. A stricture (arrow) is present in the proximal transverse colon. The patient underwent a subtotal colectomy with primary anastomosis. Panel B Gross specimen of the transverse colon sectioned longitudinally shows a thickened fibrotic wall (arrowhead), areas of mucosal hyperemia (black arrow), and a proximal stricture (white arrow).
