Hepatic adenoma in a 39-year-old woman, with a history of oral contraceptive use, who presented with acute abdominal pain. Contrast-enhanced CT scan shows a large low-attenuation mass with a soft-tissue attenuation rim in the left lobe of the liver. The low attenuation represented hematoma, as seen in the gross specimen (not shown). Hemorrhagic ascites, caused by rupture of the tumor, is noted anterior to the liver.
