Figure 5:
FNH in a 35-year-old woman with a 10-year history of oral contraceptive use who presented with abdominal pain. Panel A Dynamic enhanced CT scan obtained during the arterial phase shows a mass, which enhanced rapidly. Panel B On the CT scan obtained during the peak portal venous phase, the lesion becomes isoattenuating relative to the liver, although a central scar (arrow) becomes hyperattenuating as contrast material is retained in the myxomatous scar and washes out of the hepatocellular components of the lesion. Panel C T1-weighted MR image (300/12) reveals the large mass and its central scar (arrow) within the caudate lobe. The mass has signal intensity similar to that of the liver. Panel D T2-weighted MR image (2,168/120) shows the markedly hyperintense central scar and lobulated, slightly hyperintense mass.
