Figure 11: FNH in a 29-year-old woman who presented with epigastric pain. Panel A T2-weighted MR image (2,000/90) reveals a large mass (arrows) in the left lobe of the liver that has slightly higher signal intensity than that of the normal liver. Panel B On a T2-weighted MR image (2,000/90) obtained after intravenous injection of superparamagnetic iron oxide particles, the signal intensity within the mass decreases as the lesion takes up the particles. The central scar (arrow), which has higher signal intensity, becomes more conspicuous.
