Figure 8: Complete hydatidiform mole in a 30-year-old woman (gravida 6, para 0, aborta 6) with several prior molar pregnancies. Panel A CT scan shows a large central hypoattenuating mass (arrows) in the uterus with an intact surrounding myometrium. Panel B Another CT scan obtained at a lower level shows an adnexal (theca lutein) cyst (arrows). Panel C Gross specimen of the uterus shows a lobulated mass with surface vesicles (hysterectomy was performed due to recurrence after multiple prior treatments). No invasion was seen at histologic evaluation. Scale is in centimeters.
