Her beta-hCG level was greater than 1,000,000 mIU/mL (1,000,000 IU/L). Panel A Sonogram shows a fetus with gestational age of 12.5 weeks based on crown-rump length. Heart motion was noted. Panel B Another sonogram shows an enlarged placenta with numerous cystic areas (arrows). Panel C Intraoperative photograph shows the enlarged uterus with bilateral theca lutein cysts of the ovaries.
