Figure 13: Skull base and nasofrontal teratoma in a 6-month-old girl. Panel A Axial CT scan demonstrates a grossly heterogeneous mass that replaces the midface and ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses and displaces the orbits laterally, causing hypertelorism. The mass consists of elements with waterlike attenuation, some with lower attenuation, and multiple nodules of calcification. Panel B Direct coronal CT scan shows the relationship of the mass to the skull base. There is a ventricular shunt catheter above a small cavity of the septum pellucidum. Panel C Sagittal T1-weighted MR image demonstrates the extension of the mass into the anterior fossa of the skull base.
