Large craniofacial teratoma in a newborn girl. Panel A Oblique coronal MR image shows a heterogeneous, multiloculated, cystic mass, almost as large as the baby's head. There are a few curvilinear regions of T1 shortening, suggestive of either sebaceous lipid or adipose fat. Panel B Axial CT scan shows that the mass is primarily lateral in the neck, extending from the mandible to the spine, and displacing the hypopharynx. The mass is heterogeneous and multiloculated, with mixed soft-tissue and waterlike attenuation. A few foci of calcification were visible; one is seen at this level (arrow).
