Figure 12: Kaposi sarcoma of the gallbladder and lymph nodes in a 41-year-old homosexual man with AIDS who presented with fever and chills. Panel A US scan of the abdomen shows diffuse thickening of the gallbladder wall. Panel B Contrast-enhanced CT scan of the abdomen helps confirm the finding of a thickened gallbladder wall. Retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy is seen. Soft-tissue attenuation seen in the nodes is slightly higher than that in the adjacent paraspinal muscle.
