Panel B CT scan shows the vascular nature of the channels seen in A, with some seen longitudinally (arrowhead) and others en face (arrows). (C and D) Sagittal contrast material enhanced T1-weighted MR image Panel C and axial T2-weighted MR image Panel D show high-signal-intensity vascular channels (arrows), seen longitudinally in C and en face in D. The high signal intensity in C represents contrast enhancement, because it was not evident in the unenhanced T1-weighted image (not shown). The predominance of channels is consistent with the appearance of an arteriovenous lesion, as opposed to the larger spaces found in a cavernous hemangioma. The high signal intensity in D is from a lesion with relatively slow flow.
