Figure 9: Cystic nephroma in a 2-year-old girl with an asymptomatic right flank mass. Panel A Coronal T1-weighted (repetition time msec/echo time msec [700/20]) MR image shows a 5.5 X 5.5-cm multilocular cystic mass arising from the lower pole of the right kidney. Signal intensity characteristics of the loculi contents and the hydronephrotic upper pole collecting system (arrow) are similar. Panel B Bivalved gross specimen shows the tumor, which is sharply delineated from the uninvolved upper pole parenchyma by a fibrous capsule (arrows).
