Invasive carcinoma with liver metastasis. Panel A Image from a barium enema study shows a nonobstructive, constricting lesion within the proximal descending colon. There is marked narrowing of the bowel lumen. Panel B CT scan obtained at the same level demonstrates bowel wall thickening, luminal narrowing, and infiltration into the surrounding mesenteric fat (straight arrow), as well as a neighboring lymph node (curved arrow). Panel C CT scan obtained at a more cranial level reveals a subtle area of low attenuation within the right lobe of the liver (arrow) that was rendered nearly inconspicuous due to a delay in imaging the liver after the administration of contrast material.
