Synchronous neoplasms. Photograph of a gross specimen shows both a pedunculated adenoma (small arrow) and an ulcerating adenocarcinoma (large arrow). This specimen illustrates a transformation of the colonic mucosa, predisposing it to the development of adenoma and adenocarcinoma.
