Figure 17:
MR imaging of recurrent disease in a patient who underwent a low anterior resection for colon cancer 2 years before. Panel A Image from a barium enema study shows an area of abrupt stenosis at the anastomotic site, which is highly suggestive of recurrent disease. Panel B T1-weighted (400/3) image demonstrates a circumferential soft-tissue mass narrowing the bowel lumen (arrows). Panel C T2-weighted (2,000/100) image demonstrates homogeneous increased signal intensity within the obstructing mass, which proved to be recurrent adenocarcinoma.
