  • Manager: Peer Review, RadioGraphics

  • Starting salary:  $42,300     

     

    Description: For this pivotal position in the Editorial Office of a top-ranking radiology education journal, the successful candidate must demonstrate a basic understanding of the importance of peer review in medical publishing; the ability to structure/categorize information for the purposes of efficient storage/retrieval, effective communication, and accurate reporting; skill in mastering, navigating, and adapting complex workflows and processes to accomplish key goals; and professional reliability under deadline pressure.

    Responsibilities Include: 

    • Checks incoming submissions for compliance with content and format guidelines and readies submissions for review.
    • Coordinates and manages Editorial review and peer review, handling all related correspondence, including communications with the author about the disposition of each submission.
    • Provides trouble-shooting for authors, reviewers, and editorial board members, including offsite feature/guest editors, who use the Web site for manuscript submission and review.
    • Creates and modifies report templates as needed for effective tracking of submissions, peer review, and manuscript processing and for provision of submission rates and other statistics (submissions, rejections, acceptances, publications) to the Editor and others within RSNA.
    • Responsible for exhibit assignments and transmission of exhibit review instructions to panel chairs and panelists for the Annual Meeting.

     

    Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Knowledge of and 5 years of experience in database functions, online site management, and report development, especially related to journal publishing
    • Proficiency in current Microsoft Office suite of programs
    • Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
    • Organizational skills
    • Attention to detail, accuracy, deadlines
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills
