The RSNA R&E Foundation can accept gifts in various forms to meet your needs and provide the most benefit to you. Gifts of stock, bequests, life insurance and retirement accounts can all be given to the Foundation.

Annual Gifts

Cash gifts can be made online or by mailing your check or credit card donation. Please make your gift by September 30 to ensure recognition at RSNA 2008.

Memorial and Honorary Gifts

Memorial and honorary gifts are wonderful ways to pay tribute to a colleague, friend or loved one.  Please let us know when you donate who you would like to honor and we will notify them, or their family, of your thoughtfulness.

Appreciated Stock

By transferring a stock that has appreciated in value over the years, many donors are able to make a gift that otherwise would not be possible while enjoying significant tax savings. This type of gift allows you to claim a charitable contribution deduction for income tax purposes equal to the market value of the stock on the date of transfer to the RSNA Research and Education Foundation. Your gift will have a greater value to the Foundation than its cost to you since you will be avoiding the customary capital gains taxes.

Retirement Plan Accumulations

Retirement funds that are no longer needed and not directed in some way can be directed to reduce estate and income taxes. By designating the RSNA Research and Education Foundation as a full or partial beneficiary of these assets with a planned gift, many of these taxes can be avoided.

Bequest

A bequest is the most common method of planned giving. Thoughtful planning can ensure that your wishes are carried out when assets are distributed between relatives, friends and charities. In addition to offering significant tax savings, bequest planning can allow you to leave a legacy for the future of radiology. With the help of your attorney, your will or trust can be amended to add a charitable bequest, either for a specific amount, or a percentage of the residue. The bequest is generally reversible during your lifetime and deductible for estate tax purposes.

Life Insurance

If you no longer require the protection you once sought for your dependents, the ownership of a life insurance policy can be transferred to the RSNA Research and Education Foundation. You can also designate the Foundation as a beneficiary of your life insurance so estate taxes can be reduced or avoided.

Every situation is unique and you should consult your personal attorney, financial advisor or professional tax advisor to determine how any particular type and size of gift would work in your particular circumstance.  Please feel free to contact the Foundation with any questions about ways to give.  We can provide the necessary information to your financial advisor or attorney in order to properly execute your gift.

If you have made, or would like to make a planned gift to the Foundation, please let us know  so that we may appropriately recognize you. We hope that your gift may inspire others to give as well.

The RSNA Research & Education Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization. Your gift to the Foundation is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
