Research Grant Programs

The RSNA Research & Education Foundation offers funding opportunities for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty members who have an active interest in radiologic research. The Foundation's research grant programs often serve as the first step toward a career in radiologic research - in fact, surveys show that for every $1 awarded by the R&E Foundation, recipients receive $9 in subsequent funds from other sources as principal investigator.

James H. Thrall, MD
As a department chairman, I have been deeply impressed at the tremendous positive effects that receiving the Foundation's grants has on young trainees and faculty...giving them the boost, enthusiasm and confidence to pursue a lifelong career in academic research.

Richard L. Ehman, MD
As a young investigator, I was lucky to receive funding from R&E that enabled me to focus on contributing to patient care and the future of radiology through research. The Foundation’s continued support of young researchers and new ideas will undoubtedly lead to innovations in medical imaging that will define our specialty in its second hundred years.
