The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is now providing a new CME offering for Internet Point of Care (PoC) Learning. PoC CME is a structured, self-directed, online learning activity designed for physicians on topics relevant to their clinical practice.
To ensure that our physician audience can properly claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for their PoC Learning, the RSNA has created an online tracking mechanism that meets the AMA guidelines for the three step PoC Learning cycle. This tracking system will ask the physician to provide information regarding:
- The original clinical question(s)
- The relevant sources identified from among those consulted
- The application of the findings to the practice.
Using myRSNA, physicians will perform a search on a clinical question. From among the peer-reviewed literature sources identified on the PoC search tab, users will then bookmark the most relevant piece of literature, review the bookmarked resource, and click on the "Claim PoC CME" link to answer a set of evaluation questions.
Each time a patient-related topic is researched using the RSNA’s online evidence-based resource, 0.5 credits may be earned. A separate claim must be completed for each bookmarked resource. Awarded PoC CME credit will then be automatically entered into the users CME Repository and a CME Certificate can be printed.
Access to PoC CME is available as a member benefit. To become a member of RSNA please contact membership@rsna.org.
